WYLIE, Texas - Wylie police are investigating a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian Wednesday morning.
On March 18, 2026, at approximately 10:53 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Westgate and West FM 544 after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been struck.
When officers arrived, they found a male lying on the ground. Life-saving measures were attempted by both officers and Wylie Fire Rescue, but the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
The Wylie Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit and Criminal Investigations Division are handling the case.
Authorities said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The area remains closed as police continue to investigate. No additional information has been released at this time.
