Fugitive Arrested in Terrell Motel; Methamphetamine, Suspected Fentanyl and Handgun Seized

TERRELL, Texas — A fugitive wanted by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office was arrested Wednesday following a coordinated narcotics investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

On February 25, 2026, the Terrell Police Department Narcotics Unit received information about a wanted suspect believed to be staying at a motel in the 1600 block of South State Highway 34. Investigators worked alongside the Kaufman County Street Crimes Unit and the Texas Department of Public Safety to conduct surveillance at the location.

Officers located and arrested Jeremy L. Martin Delp, 45, of Terrell, without incident. Delp had outstanding warrants for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 1, 1–4 grams) and Failure to Appear.

A search of the motel room uncovered suspected narcotics and related items, including:

  • Approximately 9 grams of methamphetamine found inside a box containing empty baggies and a digital scale

  • A safe containing an additional 41 grams of methamphetamine

  • Two loaded syringes containing suspected fentanyl

  • One handgun

  • Additional drug paraphernalia

The Texas Department of Public Safety took custody of Delp, who was transported to the Kaufman County Jail for booking.

The Terrell Police Department said the arrest reflects ongoing cooperation between local and state agencies to combat the distribution of dangerous narcotics in the community.
