Lufkin, TX – A 34-year-old former math teacher at Wells Independent School District pleaded guilty Tuesday, February 17th, in Angelina County court to three serious felony charges involving child sexual abuse, child pornography, and bestiality.
Hillary Danielle Williams of Lufkin entered guilty pleas to:
- Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact
- Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography
- Bestiality
By pleading guilty, Williams waived her right to a jury trial. Judge Todd Kassaw sentenced her to 20 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on the indecency with a child charge, 20 years on the child pornography promotion charge, and 2 years on the bestiality charge. The sentences are to run concurrently, resulting in a total effective sentence of 20 years.
Williams was a math teacher with Wells ISD until February 2025, when she tendered her resignation following her arrest.
Court records show that Williams and her boyfriend, Michael Scott McCary, 38, also of Lufkin, were arrested in February 2025 after investigators discovered pornographic images on McCary’s cellphone depicting a child and a dog engaged in sexual acts. The evidence formed the basis for the bestiality and child pornography charges.
In April 2025, a child made an outcry alleging that Williams had inappropriately touched her two months earlier—in February 2025—leading to the indecency with a child charge.
The Angelina County District Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case. Williams remains in custody pending transfer to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to begin serving her sentence. She will be required to register as a sex offender upon release.
