HEATH, Texas - A Kaufman County man is in custody on a $2 million bond after authorities say he shot his wife multiple times during a domestic dispute Monday night and fled the scene.
Deputies with the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2026, to a reported shooting at a residence in the 4000 block of Stonewall Drive in Heath. Inside the home, deputies found an adult woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
After securing and clearing the residence, deputies spoke with a witness who was present during the incident.
