Commerce, Texas - Commerce Chief of Police Corley Weatherford has released details about a fatal incident that occurred Thursday, December 4. Residents reported a heavy presence of police vehicles in the neighborhood.
Around the 2500 block of Monroe Street, officers from the Commerce Police Department, along with East Texas A&M Police and the Commerce Fire Department, responded to a report of a gunshot wound. When first responders arrived, they found a deceased male.
The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Andres Cadena by the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office. According to the preliminary investigation, Cadena died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officials say there is no threat to the public.
