Over the Halloween weekend, the Gilmer Police Department carried out a proactive enforcement initiative aimed at reducing crime and enhancing community safety across the city. Dubbed “Operation BOO-ty Call,” the operation focused on areas identified as high-risk for criminal activity based on intelligence and community tips.
During the initiative, officers made multiple arrests related to drug and prostitution offenses. In addition, illegal narcotics and evidence of ongoing criminal activity were recovered.
The department emphasized that operations like this are part of an ongoing effort to keep the community safe, build public trust, and maintain transparency with residents.
“Proactive enforcement allows us to address criminal activity before it escalates and ensures the people of Gilmer can enjoy a safer environment,” said a spokesperson for the department. “We will continue to take deliberate steps to prevent crime while fostering positive community relationships.”
The Gilmer Police Department encouraged residents to report suspicious activity and remain vigilant, particularly during high-traffic holidays and events.
