PANOLA COUNTY, TX – A multi-agency investigation led to the arrest of a suspect connected to numerous firearm-related crimes and other offenses, the Panola County Sheriff’s Office announced.
On the morning of Friday, September 26, 2025, deputies, investigators, Constables from PCT 1 and 4, and the Panola County Fire Marshal executed search warrants at several residences on County Road 3112. The warrants were tied to an investigation into Aggravated Robbery, Burglary of a Habitation, Burglary of a Building, multiple counts of Theft of a Firearm, Firearm Smuggling, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
The case centered around Lawrence Williams, who investigators say pawned multiple firearms and other stolen equipment at pawn shops in the Marshall area. Authorities also linked Williams to a September 19, 2025, aggravated robbery, during which a property owner was threatened with a handgun while confronting a suspect stealing a radiator. Investigators believe the weapon used was one of the stolen firearms not yet pawned.
During the search, deputies recovered evidence connecting Williams to the crimes, including a handgun, ammunition, a firearm magazine, digital scales, game cameras, and an air compressor.
Williams was arrested on charges of Theft of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. The Panola County Sheriff’s Office says additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
