Rockwall ISD Student Arrested for Terroristic Threats at Rakow Middle School in Fate

Rakow Middle School

FATE, Texas — A Rakow Middle School student has been arrested after making threats against the school and its students, according to the Fate Department of Public Safety.

On Tuesday, September 23, the school’s Resource Officer was notified of the comments, which were made late in the day. The officer immediately began an investigation, including a visit to the student’s home. During that visit, the student admitted to making the threatening remarks but claimed they were meant “as a joke.”

The following day, September 24, Rockwall ISD suspended the student pending further investigation. Later that same day, the school resource officer and Fate DPS patrol officers returned to the juvenile’s home and placed the student under arrest without incident.

The juvenile was charged with Terroristic Threat and transported to the Collin County Juvenile Detention Center. Authorities emphasized that at no time were students or staff in immediate danger.

“Thanks to the swift actions of school officials and our officers, the situation was addressed quickly and safely,” Fate DPS said in a statement.

Because the suspect is a juvenile, no identifying information will be released.

The department also encouraged parents, students, and community members to report any concerning behavior. “Working together, we can continue to keep our schools safe,” officials said.
