TERRELL, Texas – A 41-year-old man was killed early Wednesday morning after being struck by a train in Terrell, according to police.
At approximately 5:19 a.m. on September 17, the Terrell Police Department received a call from Union Pacific Railroad reporting a pedestrian had been hit. The train came to a stop near Gardner Street, where responding officers found the victim in the 100 block of South Virginia Street.
The man was identified as James Earl Davis III, a resident of Terrell. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said several railroad crossings were temporarily blocked but have since reopened. The incident remains under investigation by the Terrell Police Department in coordination with Union Pacific Railroad.
