The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened late Saturday morning, September 6, at the Valero gas station located at 1001 County Road 3550 in the Colony Ridge community.
Around 11:57 a.m., deputies were called after an argument broke out between a man and woman, believed to be ex-boyfriend and girlfriend. During the confrontation, the woman allegedly shot the man in the chest.
Deputies arrived quickly, provided life-saving aid, and detained the woman, who was still on scene. The male victim was airlifted to HCA Northwest and is currently in stable condition.
The Criminal Investigation Division responded, and detectives are interviewing both individuals to determine what led up to the shooting.
At this time, no arrests have been made. Investigators are keeping District Attorney Jennifer Burgman updated as the case develops.
