HONEY GROVE, TX – Before dawn last Friday, several masked suspects used a stolen truck out of Paris to break into the ATM at Veritex Bank in Honey Grove. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the burglary.
Authorities say the suspects abandoned the stolen truck at the scene and fled in a second, unidentified vehicle driven by accomplices.
The following day, Paris Police received information that a vehicle from the 2800 block of Mahaffey had been used in the Honey Grove ATM burglary. Officers contacted the vehicle’s owner, who confirmed it had been stolen from his property. The owner said the vehicle was locked and that he still had all keys in his possession.
The stolen 2020 GMC was recovered from the scene by a wrecker due to extensive damage sustained in the incident.
The case remains under investigation by the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force.
