Harrison County Deputies Respond to Domestic Assault and Dog Attack

On Wednesday night, August 27, 2025, Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on FM-1997, north of Marshall, after receiving a call from a complainant reporting an assault.

According to the victim, her son allegedly pushed her during an altercation, obtained her Cash App password, and withdrew $75. During the incident, the family’s dog, Zeus, bit the victim, prompting her to seek medical treatment at Good Shepherd Medical Center (GSMC).

Deputies spoke with the son at the residence, who provided his side of the story. Meanwhile, deputies made contact with the victim at GSMC, where she expressed her intent to press criminal charges.

As deputies returned to the home to continue the investigation, dispatchers advised that the family’s dog had attacked the oldest child inside the house. Deputies were able to rescue another child by helping him escape through a window after he had barricaded himself from the aggressive dog.

With assistance from a Marshall Police Department officer, deputies attempted to capture the dog. They were ultimately able to secure Zeus in a bedroom, preventing further harm.

The investigation into the assault and related incidents remains ongoing.
