Tractor-Trailer Driver Charged After Fiery Crash and Diesel Spill in Marshall

Marshall Police arrested a Linden man after a serious crash involving a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck pulling an empty horse trailer late Friday night.

The collision occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on July 25, 2025, at the intersection of Highway 59 and Loop 390. Witnesses told officers the tractor-trailer ran a red light and struck the pickup, causing significant damage and spilling diesel fuel across the roadway and into a nearby drainage ditch.

Two individuals in the pickup were transported to a local hospital. Their current conditions have not been disclosed.

Cleanup of the hazardous diesel spill was handled by Lone Star Hazmat.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, identified as 59-year-old Kenneth Janowski of Linden, Texas, was arrested and charged with two counts of Intoxication Assault with Vehicle, both third-degree felonies. He was booked into the Harrison County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
