Snapchat Party Leads to Trespassing Investigation at Gladewater Lake House; Juveniles Detained

GLADEWATER, TX – The Gladewater Police Department is actively investigating a report of criminal trespass at an unoccupied lake house where a party was allegedly held without the owner's permission, reportedly advertised through Snapchat. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in the 1600 block of East Lake Drive.

Investigators have interviewed multiple individuals who stated they were invited to a party at the location via the social media platform Snapchat. However, authorities confirm the residence was unlawfully accessed, and the property owner did not authorize the gathering.

In addition to the criminal trespass, investigators are reviewing reports of other potential criminal activity that may have occurred during the event. So far, two juveniles have been detained and referred to Upshur County juvenile probation in connection with the case. Detectives are continuing their efforts to identify additional individuals involved.

The case remains an active and ongoing investigation. The Gladewater Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Lieutenant Freddie Fitzgerald or Sergeant David Burrows at (903) 845-2166.

The department also expressed appreciation for community cooperation and reminded the public to respect private property and exercise caution when responding to invitations shared on social media. Upon the conclusion of the investigation, the department stated it would conduct a full internal review of the initial police response to ensure accountability and best practices for future incidents.
