LONGVIEW, TX – A Longview man has been arrested in connection with a Sunday night shooting at the Palace Inn Motel that left an adult female with life-threatening injuries.
On July 20, 2025, at approximately 10:27 p.m., Longview Police Officers were dispatched to the Palace Inn Motel, located at 2107 East Marshall Avenue, following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found an adult female who had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital by the Longview Fire Department and is in critical condition.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Investigators quickly identified Michael Duane Jones, 59, as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Jones was located on Monday, July 21st, and taken into custody. He faces charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Second Degree Felony) and Evading Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor).
