GILMER, TX – On July 9, 2025, Randy Ray Price, a 37-year-old man from Upshur County, pleaded guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver. He was sentenced to 35 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division and waived his right to appeal.
Price’s guilty plea came just before his case was set to go to trial in July. The charges stemmed from a traffic stop conducted on September 25, 2024, by Sergeant Nustad and Investigator Lambert with the Upshur County Sheriff's Office. During the stop, Price, who had been previously involved in multiple narcotics-related incidents, consented to a search of his vehicle.
Officers discovered a large plastic bag containing nearly 50 grams of methamphetamine hidden inside the glove box.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant Criminal District Attorney Greg Geddie and presided over by 115th District Judge Dean Fowler. The Upshur County District Attorney’s Office credited the work of law enforcement and prosecutors for bringing the case to a successful resolution.
