Twice-Deported Mexican National Indicted for Illegal Reentry in Texarkana

Jose Orlando Colorado-Barcenas

A Mexican national living illegally in Texarkana has been indicted on federal charges in the Eastern District of Texas, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.

Jose Orlando Colorado-Barcenas, 35, was named in a federal indictment returned by a grand jury last week. He is charged with illegally reentering the United States after previously being removed.

According to the indictment, Colorado-Barcenas was found unlawfully present in the U.S. on May 14, 2025, in Texarkana. He had previously been deported to Mexico in June 2009 and again in January 2010.

If convicted, Colorado-Barcenas faces up to two years in federal prison and deportation.

The case is being investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren Richards.

A federal indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
