TERRELL, Texas — A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month at a Terrell park, according to police.
On April 15, 2026, detectives with the Terrell Police Department Criminal Investigation Division located and arrested Lashadion D. Turner-Allen, a Terrell resident, in connection with the case. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Terrell Municipal Jail.
The arrest stems from a shooting reported on April 5, 2026, at approximately 9:48 p.m. in the area of Breezy Hill Park in the 300 block of New Hope Street.
Officers responding to reports of gunfire found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police said officers provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Authorities identified the victim as 42-year-old Kenneth Wayne Mims Jr. of Dallas.
