A 38-year-old man was taken into custody on Friday afternoon after allegedly pulling a gun on a car salesman and stealing a Ford Mustang from Silsbee Ford.
On June 20, 2025, at approximately 2:07 p.m., law enforcement was alerted to an aggravated robbery at the dealership, where a white male suspect brandished a firearm and stole a vehicle. An attempt-to-locate alert was issued to surrounding agencies.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a vehicle matching the stolen Mustang traveling on Highway 96, south of Buna. A check of the license plate revealed it belonged to a different vehicle.
With backup units arriving, deputies initiated a traffic stop at Highway 96 and County Road 729, north of Buna. The suspect, identified as Justin Keith Colley, 38, of Village Mills, Texas, was taken into custody without incident.
Colley will be transferred to Hardin County to face Aggravated Robbery charges. Authorities also confirmed he will face additional charges in Jasper County.
Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard commended the alert response of Deputy Jacob Spivey, whose actions led to the arrest.
