The Longview Fire Department responded to a unique accident on Monday, June 16, 2025, when a car collided with a house in the 1000 block of Blue Ridge Parkway. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the residence sustained significant structural damage.
At approximately 9:35 AM, fire department personnel arrived to find a car had struck the corner of a garage, rendering the building unstable. To ensure safety, members of the technical rescue team were dispatched with specialized tools and equipment, including hydraulic struts, to support the weight of the structure. Crews used these struts and constructed additional posts to stabilize the house, making it safe for the homeowner to reoccupy the residence.
