Three Teens Arrested in Texarkana After Early Morning Vehicle Burglaries

Jacob Casteel and Xavier Negron

Thanks to a vigilant resident’s 911 call, Texarkana police arrested three teenage suspects early Wednesday morning, June 11, 2025, in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries in the Shadow Brook neighborhood.

Around 4:15 a.m., a resident reported seeing several individuals pulling on car door handles. The witness briefly followed the suspects, providing police with a vehicle description and license plate number before losing sight of them near Walton Drive. Officers located the suspects' vehicle shortly afterward at a convenience store on Richmond Road, where they detained the three teens matching security footage from Shadow Brook.

Investigators determined that at least two cars in the Shadow Brook neighborhood and another on Jan Circle had been burglarized. A search of the suspects’ vehicle uncovered evidence connecting them to the burglaries, including two pistols (one previously reported stolen), drugs, and cash.

The suspects, identified as Jacob Casteel (17), Xavier Negron (17), and a 16-year-old juvenile, were arrested and charged with Burglary of a Vehicle, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Theft of a Firearm, and Possession of a Dangerous Drug. The juvenile also initially provided a false name; upon confirming his identity, officers discovered an outstanding felony warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He faces an additional charge of Failure to Identify.

Casteel and Negron were booked into the Bi-State Jail with bonds set at $72,000 and $67,000, respectively. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Court Center.
