A Mesquite man has been arrested and charged with Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle following a fatal two-vehicle collision on State Highway 276 in Hunt County on Sunday, June 8, 2025. The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Curtis Warren Wade (view obituary).

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers responded to the crash near FM-1565, south of Union Valley, where they found a major collision. Wade was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to his fiancé, Wade was on his way to go fishing with a friend he hadn't seen in over 20 years. In the aftermath of the collision, a Good Samaritan, Fernando Olivo, stopped and helped Wade out of his truck before it caught fire. Olivo, a stranger, later attended Wade's funeral with his wife. Wade leaves behind two daughters, aged 20 and 12, with the youngest attending Terrell schools.
The other driver, identified as Jecobii Trevelle Moore of Mesquite, was determined by troopers to be at fault and was arrested at the scene.
Moore was transported to the Hunt County Detention Center, where he was booked on the intoxication manslaughter charge. His bond was set at $200,000.
