On Sunday, July 13th, Hunt County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in Greenville, Texas. After interviewing the individuals involved, deputies arrested 51-year-old Sonny Lynn Gann on a charge of Assault of a Family Member with a Previous Conviction. His bond for that charge was set at $15,000.
In addition to the assault charge, Gann was also booked for a Parole Violation.
Gann has a history of criminal convictions. In April 2010, he was convicted of drug dealing and sentenced to 15 years in prison. That same day, he was also convicted of Resisting Arrest and sentenced to 1 year, and separately convicted of Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle, receiving a 2-year sentence. He was released early in March 2016.
Later that year, in September 2016, Gann was again convicted—this time for Resisting Arrest and Assaulting a Peace Officer. He was sentenced to 6 months and 20 days in the Hunt County Jail.
