A Sherman man is facing multiple felony charges after reportedly forcing his way into his ex-wife’s home and attempting to stab another man during a violent domestic disturbance.
At approximately 5:06 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, Sherman Police responded to a disturbance in the 800 block of South Heritage Parkway after receiving a report of a man attempting to stab someone.
Upon arrival, officers located 28-year-old Emilson De Dios-Escobar with visible injuries to his head and face. Through their investigation, officers determined that Emilson had been causing ongoing problems for his ex-wife and had arrived at the residence to pick up their child. Suspecting another man was inside the home, Emilson forced his way in, injuring his ex-wife in the process.
Once inside, Emilson initiated a confrontation with both his ex-wife and the male visitor. During the altercation, Emilson reportedly grabbed a knife and attempted to stab the man. In doing so, he placed both his ex-wife and their young child in significant danger.
The male victim sustained a minor stab wound but was able to disarm Emilson and stop the attack in self-defense. Emilson sustained head and facial injuries during the struggle and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Following his release from medical care, Emilson was booked into the Grayson County Jail. He is charged with Burglary of Habitation with Intent to Commit Another Felony, Assault on a Family Member by Impeding Breath, and three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bond was set at $390,000. An Emergency Protective Order was filed on behalf of the ex-wife.
