A 52-year-old woman from Tyler was arrested Sunday night, May 11, after providing a false name during a traffic stop on Interstate 20 and being found in possession of suspected narcotics.
According to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a tip that a wanted subject was traveling eastbound into the county on I-20. Deputies located the vehicle and made contact with its occupants. The driver initially identified herself as Carlis Hester and claimed she had no identification on her.
After further investigation, deputies determined the driver was actually Angie Lavonda Christopher, 52, of Tyler. A K9 unit, K9 Pato, conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of suspected controlled substances.
Christopher was taken into custody and booked into the Harrison County Jail. She is charged with:
