East Texas Cold Case: Reward Increased in 2013 Harrison County Murder

Victim: Lillian Desiree Descoteau

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking the public's help in solving the 2013 murder of 51-year-old Lillian Desiree Descoteau in Harrison County. The reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for her death has been increased to $6,000 if the tip is received before the next featured Texas Rangers cold case is announced.

On October 7, 2013, the partially nude body of Lillian Desiree Descoteau was discovered by two truck drivers near the FM 450 ramp onto IH-20, just south of Hallsville, Texas. Investigators determined that she had been sexually assaulted, beaten, and strangled. Descoteau was found wearing only a light blue pullover, a white bra, and a single diamond stud earring.

Prior to her death, Descoteau lived a transient lifestyle, residing in various states across the country, including Alaska, Colorado, Ohio, Georgia, Maryland, and Louisiana. Her last known residence was in Irving, Texas, where she briefly worked as a commercial truck driver.

The Texas DPS is urging anyone with information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, to come forward and help bring justice to Lillian Desiree Descoteau.
