On April 29, 2025, Narcotics Investigators from Henderson County, including Jonathan Daille and Jonathan Barrios, arrested Javier Castaneda Jr. at an address on West Larkin Street in Athens. Castaneda, wanted for a parole violation, was taken into custody without incident during the warrant service.
While on the property, investigators observed narcotics in plain view and subsequently obtained a search warrant for the residence. The search uncovered a significant quantity of marijuana, some of it prepackaged for sale, as well as suspected cocaine and a large sum of U.S. currency.
Castaneda, 31, was booked into the Henderson County Jail on his active parole violation warrant, along with charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. He is currently awaiting arraignment.
