Thirty-one-year-old Preston Olin Burkley has been convicted again for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child following a retrial. He was originally arrested on April 20, 2020, and initially convicted in September 2021, receiving a 17-year prison sentence. However, he appealed the conviction.
In the retrial, the jury found Burkley guilty, and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The case was led by Megan Bisacca, with Philip Teissier serving as second chair. DA Investigator Joseph Mundy and DA Victim Advocate Yvonne Macias also supported the prosecution. The Mesquite Police Department was the investigating agency.
