A Harrison County Deputy stopped a vehicle speeding on FM 2208, and the odor of marijuana prompted a further investigation. During the stop, a male passenger, identified as 17-year-old Javein Joseph Allen of Longview, fled on foot.
Deputies were initially unable to locate Allen, but witnesses reported seeing him enter The Corner Store. The deputy located Allen inside the store, and after a brief struggle, he was taken into custody.
Allen was found to have two active felony warrants from Gregg County. He was transported to the Harrison County Jail and received additional charges of Evading Arrest, Assault on a Public Servant, and Resisting Arrest. His total bond was set at $52,500.
