Kody Whipple has been sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child in Delta County. District Judge Eddie Northcutt handed down the sentence after reviewing evidence detailing years of severe sexual and psychological abuse of Whipple's children.
The charge carried a potential punishment of 25 to 99 years or life in prison without parole. The life sentence reflects the gravity and lasting impact of Whipple's crimes.
The Eighth Judicial District Attorney’s Office commended the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, particularly Investigator Samantha Manrique, for their dedicated work on the case, which was crucial in ensuring justice for the victims. They also thanked Judge Northcutt for the sentence.
Assistant District Attorney Zachary Blackmon stated, “This case represents the absolute worst kind of abuse—but it also highlights the best of what can happen when law enforcement, prosecutors, and the judiciary align in the pursuit of justice. This case is a clear reminder that those who harm children will face the full force of the law here in Delta County. There is no place in our community for those who abuse the most vulnerable among us.”
