A Jasper man has been sentenced to 51 months in federal prison for a firearms violation, U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs announced on January 16, 2025.
Bradley Joseph LeBlanc, 25, pleaded guilty to possession of an unregistered firearm and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone.
Court records revealed that on November 15, 2023, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at LeBlanc’s Jasper residence. During the search, they discovered a fully automatic machine gun that had been reported stolen from a Waller County law enforcement officer’s vehicle. Investigators determined that LeBlanc had no firearms records with the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Records (NFRTR).
The case was prosecuted under the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Program, a collaborative effort between federal, state, and local authorities to reduce violent crime. PSN focuses on targeting violent offenders and supporting prevention and reentry programs to achieve long-term crime reduction.
The investigation involved the Jasper Police Department, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Quinn handled the prosecution.
