A 36-year-old woman, Crystal Star Cox of Paris, was killed in a major auto-pedestrian accident on the evening of December 20, 2024. Paris EMS and Paris PD responded to the scene at 8:41 p.m. in the 2400 block of Lamar Avenue, where Cox was found with significant head and face trauma.
Cox was transported to Paris Regional Health Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. Investigators believe she failed to yield the right of way to the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, which is being handled by the Paris Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
The next of kin have been notified. The investigation into the incident continues.
