On May 26, 2024, the Gladewater Police Department received a report of a suspicious individual at the Dollar General located at 904 E Broadway Ave. The caller reported that a white female was following customers around the store.
When officers arrived, they found Angela Renee Baird-Curtis, who matched the description given. Baird-Curtis was wanted on twelve City of Gladewater warrants.
During the arrest, Baird-Curtis resisted and attempted to escape, assaulting an officer by biting him. With the help of a bystander, the officer was able to detain her.
Baird-Curtis now faces charges of Assaulting a Public Servant (F3), Resisting Arrest (MA), and Escape from Custody (MA). She was booked into the Gregg County jail.
