Warrant Arrest Leads Greenville Police to Apprehend Repeat Offender for Drug Dealing

On May 27, 2024, Greenville Police Officers pursued a warrant arrest for 34-year-old Jesse Lee Franklin III, a resident of Greenville. Franklin attempted to evade the officers upon being located, leading to a foot chase. After a brief pursuit, officers successfully apprehended Franklin, taking him into custody.

The arrest warrant stemmed from charges filed on November 3, 2023, by the 196th District Court in Hunt County. Franklin faced charges of drug dealing, including the manufacture/delivery of controlled substances such as Cocaine, Methamphetamine, and PCP, along with possession of Marijuana weighing more than 4 oz but less than 5 lbs. His bond had been set at $550,000, but was released on a personal recognizance bond on February 5, 2024.

Franklin's criminal history in Hunt County is extensive, marked by various offenses. On May 11, 2024, he was arrested for Public Intoxication. The recent warrant arrest also resulted in a new charge of Evading Arrest.
