On May 19, 2024, at approximately 10:18 PM, a McKinney Police Department patrol officer encountered a motor vehicle accident on the 1000 block of S McDonald Street while on patrol. The officer discovered that a 39-year-old female pedestrian had been struck by a Ford Focus while walking in the roadway.
The officer immediately provided aid to the victim, who had sustained a head injury and was unconscious. Medical personnel arrived and transported her to Medical Center McKinney for further treatment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver of the Ford Focus was not intoxicated and has not been accused of any wrongdoing at this time. The McKinney Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
