On Saturday, February 10th, Paris Police officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle burglary in the 200 block of SW 5th. The caller informed authorities that a suspect had stolen a black bag from the vehicle. Officers identified the suspect as 41-year-old Andrecas Bauntez Morgan based on the description provided.
Upon encountering Morgan, officers noticed he was holding a black object which he attempted to conceal before fleeing on foot. However, Morgan slipped on wet grass during his escape. Subsequently, officers apprehended him and discovered he was in possession of the stolen property from the motor vehicle burglary.
Morgan was arrested and charged with evading arrest. Following further investigation, he confessed to the burglary. This incident follows Morgan's previous arrest for trespassing at a shelter on Kaufman Street in January 2024.
Morgan's bond has been set at $1,500.
