Texarkana Police Officers arrested 38-year-old Daniel Thomas for Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury after he turned himself in this morning. He was booked into the Bi-State Jail and released this afternoon after posting a $150,000 bond.
Thomas is the suspect in an assault that happened this past weekend at Central Mall. The victim, an employee of the mall, suffered serious injuries that included a concussion and several broken orbital bones around his eyes as a result of the attack. The investigation determined that Thomas hit the man in the face, knocking him unconscious. Thomas then stood over the man and hit him at least four more times.
The victim was initially transported to a local hospital but was later transferred to a Little Rock hospital due to the severity of his injuries. Despite facing physical issues, he has been released from the hospital and is now recuperating at home.
