City of Paris Accepting Applications for Main Street Advisory Board Position

The City of Paris is currently seeking applications for a vacant position on the Main Street Advisory Board. Interested individuals are invited to apply based on the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be residents of the City of Paris, Texas, unless otherwise specified by the authorizing ordinance or law creating the board or commission.
  • Applicants should be committed to attending the regularly scheduled meetings of the board or commission.
  • Eligible candidates must be registered voters, with the same residency address provided on the application.

The Main Street Advisory Board plays a crucial role in advising the City Council and recommending policies, goals, and objectives for the Main Street program. Board Members will also contribute to decisions on guidelines for the refurbishment of buildings in the downtown area, propose programs to attract patrons to the downtown area, and support advertising initiatives for downtown events.

Applications must be submitted by Monday, February 5, 2024. The appointment for the vacant position is expected to be made during the regular City Council meeting on February 12, 2024. The appointment is for an unexpired term.
