Toney Dangerfield, 53, found himself in trouble with the law over the holidays, facing two consecutive arrests by the Texarkana Police Department for driving while intoxicated (DWI).
The first incident unfolded around 12:30 early last Thursday morning when employees at a local fast-food restaurant alerted authorities to an apparently highly intoxicated man in their parking lot. Witnesses reported seeing Dangerfield stumbling back to his car after being unable to enter the establishment. Officer Brady Cooper arrived on the scene and, after determining Dangerfield's impairment through field sobriety tests, arrested him. He was released later that day after posting a $5,000 bond.
The second arrest occurred at approximately 5:40 on Saturday afternoon when a concerned citizen dialed 911 to report a man who had been passed out in his car on the side of the road in their neighborhood and was now driving away. Officer Chastina Wilburn spotted the vehicle a few minutes later, attempting to stop it as it weaved erratically on the road. However, Dangerfield continued driving until reaching his residence several blocks away. Subsequent investigation revealed his intoxicated state, leading to his second arrest. This time, his bond was set at $10,000, and Dangerfield is currently held at the Bi-State Jail.
Authorities emphasize the dangers and consequences of driving under the influence, urging the public to refrain from engaging in such risky behavior.
