Emergency Landing on U.S. Highway 80 as Small Aircraft Runs Out of Fuel

On Monday afternoon, a small twin-engine aircraft executed an emergency landing on U.S. Highway 80 in Kaufman County. The Forney Police Department and Forney Fire Department swiftly responded to the reported plane crash, which occurred just east of the Pinson Road Bridge.

The aircraft involved was identified as a fixed-wing multi-engine Piper PA-23-250, registered to Pacific Fleet Aviation LLC based in Rochester, New York. Preliminary observations indicate that the plane was traveling westbound over the highway before making contact with the ground. The impact caused the plane to strike the center median divider cable and continue westbound until colliding with a highway guardrail.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Piper PA-23-250 departed from Mesquite Municipal Airport at 9:31 am, flying south.  Initial findings suggest that the aircraft ran out of fuel, necessitating the emergency landing on U.S. Highway 80.

Fortunately, the pilot emerged unharmed, and there were no reported injuries to individuals on the ground. The incident resulted in heavy traffic congestion on U.S. Highway 80 in the vicinity of the crash site.
