Rains ISD Superintendent Named Friends of Texas Public Schools Ambassador of the Year

The Friends of Texas Public Schools organization has selected Mr. Kevin Worthy, superintendent of Rains Independent School District (ISD), as one of the 2023 Ambassadors of the Year. This prestigious recognition was announced recently, and Mr. Worthy, along with other honorees, will be celebrated at the organization's 19th annual awards dinner to be held at the Baylor Club, McLane Stadium on Wednesday, November 8.

In addition to Mr. Worthy, two other distinguished educators, Dr. Bobby Ott, Superintendent of Temple ISD, and Dr. Georgeanne Warnock, Superintendent of Terrell ISD, were also named Ambassadors of the Year Honorees.

The Ambassador of the Year award was established by Friends of Texas Public Schools to spotlight exceptional educators who play a crucial role in improving public perceptions of their schools. These ambassadors are recognized for their efforts in sharing the success stories of their educational institutions, celebrating achievements, uplifting fellow educators, and ensuring that their communities are informed about the positive impact of their public schools.

Mr. Kevin Worthy expressed his gratitude for this honor, saying, "Friends of Texas Public Schools is known for lifting teachers, students, and schools into a well-deserved limelight in Texas. Educators can be humble to a fault. We must brag on the amazing things happening in our schools across Texas. I'm grateful for what FOTPS has done for Texas Public Schools and look forward to the amazing things ahead."
