Driver Found Passed Out in Roadway Arrested for DWI, Resisting Blood Draw

Angel Adgiel Garcia

A 33-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and resisting a blood draw after being found passed out in his vehicle in the middle of an intersection on Saturday night.

According to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, a passerby reported a vehicle stopped in the roadway with an individual slumped over inside. Deputies responded to the location at the intersection of Highway 43 and FM 2625 and attempted to wake the driver.

Upon waking, the driver, identified as Angel Adgiel Garcia, reportedly released the brake, causing the vehicle to roll through the intersection and come to a stop on the embankment. Deputies had Garcia exit the vehicle and suspected he was impaired.

Standard Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs) were conducted, and deputies determined that Garcia was intoxicated by alcohol. He was then transported to a local hospital for a blood draw. At the hospital, Garcia allegedly resisted the blood draw.

Following the incident at the hospital, Angel Adgiel Garcia of Roma, TX, was transported to the Harrison County Jail.  He was charged with DWI (2nd), Resisting Arrest and Assault of a Peace Officer.
