Dallas Woman with Violent History Arrested in Hunt County for Meth and Fentanyl Possession

Shalyn Leora Arnold

Hunt County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 35-year-old Shalyn Leora Arnold of Dallas on Tuesday, April 29, charging her with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance after she was found in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl. Her total bond was set at $40,000.

Arnold is also facing a parole violation charge issued by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, as she is currently on probation.

Her criminal history includes multiple convictions for violent offenses and drug-related crimes. In 2018, Arnold was sentenced to three years of probation after being charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon in a domestic violence case. According to the victim in that case, Arnold attacked him while he was asleep, stabbing him twice after telling him, “God wants you to die tonight.” He was able to escape and lock himself in a bathroom.

On March 27, 2023, while still on probation, Arnold committed another similar offense, leading the court to amend her sentence to five years in prison.

Separately, Arnold had a drug charge for Possession of a Controlled Substance (PG1/1-B) dismissed by the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office on May 27, 2023, but she was still sentenced to two years in prison for a second possession charge at the time, to run concurrent with the sentence for her probation violation.

Arnold remains in custody at the Hunt County Detention Center.
