Greenville ISD Destination Imagination Teams Triumph at East Region Competition, Advance to State Level

Twelve Greenville ISD Destination Imagination teams recently showcased their skills at the East Region competition, facing off against 111 teams from across East Texas.

Out of these teams, three emerged victorious, securing first place honors and earning the opportunity to compete at the state level. The triumphant teams include The Glowing Black Widows, The Snakeskin Fedoras, and The Goober Police.

The Glowing Black Widows, a middle-level service-learning team from Travis Intermediate, impressed judges with their innovative solutions and teamwork. The team members are Aiden Daun, Josie Daun, Avery Harris, Daniela Melendez, Isabella Melendez, Gracey Schneider, and Temitope Sowemimo, coached by Alicia Daun.

The Snakeskin Fedoras, a secondary-level technical team, showcased exceptional technical prowess and creativity. Comprising Devin Long, Hayden Taylor, Elijah Padilla, Ximena Muniz, and Tatum London, this team is coached by Theresa Long and Dennis Powers.

The Goober Police, another secondary-level service-learning team, stood out with their dedication to service and imaginative solutions. Nakoah Loeb, Misty Lopez, Makiah Rodriguez, and Autumn Hinchey make up the team, guided by coach Christina Hinchey.

These teams will now prepare to compete at the state level in Arlington. Greenville ISD extends its congratulations to the teams and their coaches and wishes them the best of luck in the upcoming competition.
