On the evening of October 27, 2023, at approximately 10:04 pm, a water rescue operation unfolded on the north service road of Highway 80 in Summerhaven. First responders were dispatched to the scene to assist an individual in distress.
During the daring rescue, three Forney Police officers found themselves briefly submerged while saving the trapped individual from her vehicle. Fortunately, the rescued person did not sustain any injuries that required transportation to a medical facility. However, as a precaution, all three officers involved in the rescue were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and observation.
The three officers were later released from the Hospital.
