On the evening of October 26, 2023, the Sulphur Springs Police Department responded to a reported assault at an address on Russell Drive. The incident took place shortly after 8 pm.
Upon their arrival, officers made contact with Ty Giles, who was identified as the alleged assailant, and the individual who had been assaulted. According to the victim, Giles had kicked her foot during an altercation and also made contact with her face, resulting in a busted lip. Officers at the scene observed injuries on the victim.
Following their investigation, Ty Giles, a 21-year-old resident of Sulphur Springs, was taken into custody and subsequently transported to the Hopkins County Jail. Giles faces a charge of "Assault Causing Bodily Injury - Family Member."
