In a recent incident, a Paris Police officer conducted a traffic stop at 11:37 PM on Wednesday night due to an equipment violation in the 500 block of Fitzhugh Street. During the stop, the officer observed the driver, identified as Dextar Lamar Williams, in possession of a marijuana cigarette.
Upon this discovery, the police officers detained Williams and instructed him to exit the vehicle. However, Williams refused to comply, leading to a situation where two officers had to physically remove him from the vehicle and subsequently restrain him in order to apply handcuffs.
While the marijuana itself was either destroyed or concealed by Williams, he was found to be in possession of a pipe used for smoking narcotics. As a result of the incident, Williams has been charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No License Plate Lights, and Resisting Arrest.
