In a routine traffic stop on Tuesday afternoon, September 17, 2023, at 1:42 pm, in the 1800 block of W. Austin in Paris, TX, law enforcement officers encountered a passenger in a vehicle who initially identified himself as Joshua Sessums. However, upon further investigation, it was revealed that this individual was, in fact, David Paul Goss, who was wanted on a Lamar County Warrant.
Additionally, during the course of the stop, Goss was found to be in possession of various personal belongings that did not belong to him, including wallets and identifying documents belonging to other individuals. As a result, the police have charged Goss with several offenses, including failing to Identify as a Fugitive from Justice, Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information, and a county warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
