The Upshur County Sheriff's Office has taken a 13-year-old juvenile male into custody on charges of making terroristic threats towards students and a faculty member at Bruce Junior High School. The arrest follows an investigation into allegations of threats made by the juvenile, prompting swift action by law enforcement.
The juvenile was apprehended and subsequently transported to the Gregg County Juvenile Detention Center located in Longview, Texas, where he remains in custody at this time. Authorities have not released the identity of the juvenile due to his age.
The arrest came after school officials provided the Sheriff's Office with witness statements and video evidence supporting the allegations that the juvenile had made threats to harm others once school resumed following the Yamboree school holidays. The evidence and cooperation from school officials led to the arrest of the juvenile in question.
