On Saturday, October 14, emergency responders reacted to a severe car accident in the 300 block of Legendary Lane in Gun Barrel City, TX, at 9:25 PM. The Gun Barrel City Fire and Police Departments, in collaboration with the Seven Points Police Department and the Texas Highway Patrol, rushed to the scene where a vehicle had left the road and crashed into a tree.
The impact was so intense that the driver became trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters utilized the Hurst Jaws of Life® Rescue Tools to safely extricate the driver from the wreckage.
Following the rescue operation, the driver was promptly transported from the scene by UT Health EMS and subsequently airlifted by UT Health Air 1 helicopter to a medical facility in Tyler for further treatment.
In response to the incident, law enforcement officers closed Legendary Lane for approximately one hour to facilitate the emergency response efforts and ensure public safety.
